In Need
We live in denial if we think we have no need greater than ourselves. There is a transcendent God who lives outside the box we've created and inhabit. He put the need to be loved inside each of us. He put the need to be known and judged inside each of us. He put the need for truth and friendship inside each of us. Insomuch as he placed the need, He also fulfills the need.
So many people have told me how much they relate to this song, to this longing for something outside of themselves. The good news is that we aren't left alone with these unmet needs. They are, each one, fulfilled as we confess our need for the Savior and miracle- maker, Jesus Christ.
I'm in need of a savior
I'm in need of a judge
I'm in need of a miracle- maker
I'm in need of true love
I'm in need of a sign and a wonder
I'm in need of the truth
I'm in need of a faithful friend
I need a little proof
I'm drier than the desert
I'm searching for something that's real
I need you, I need you
I'm in need of a new day dawning
I'm in need of a word
I'm in need of a revelation
A verse I haven't heard
I'm in need of a heavenly vision
Oh I'm in need of a plan
I'm in need of a little direction
I could really use a hand
I'm drier than the desert
Searching for something that's real
There must be more to each and every day
Something beyond what I feel
I need you, I need you, I need you
