Rain
The summer of 2007 in Nashville was unusually hot and dry. Every Sunday at church we would pray earnestly for the rain to come and water the earth. At one point during a service, these words came flowing into my head and the melody was close behind. After church I went home, sat at the piano, and began to play. The prayers at church turned into a song at home and it was as if God was wanting me to pray for His rain to come soak us and wash us. I always think of His rain as His presence, sometimes gentle and refreshing, sometimes strong and powerful. My spirit was dry and cracked and it was much in need of a heavenly downpour.
Rain come down fill my soul, fill my soul
Rain come down make me whole, make me whole
Rain come down fill my soul, fill my soul
Rain come down make me whole, make me whole
Rain come, rain fall, fall on us
Rain come, rain fall, fall on us
Heaven's rain
Rain come down pour over me, over me
Rain come down wash me clean, wash me clean
Rain come down pour over me, over me
Rain come down wash me clean, wash me clean
Rain come, rain fall, fall on us
Rain come, rain fall, fall on us
Rain, rain, heaven's rain
